Thought I'd start a thread specifically for this model as it was a small seller (70 total) and has an engine peculiar to it (in Citroens at least). Rather than try to find the bits of information about it spread all over the forum, lets try to put it all in here?

Specs (differing from the 2 litre)
Engine is referred to as 4HL or DW12C or DW12CTED4 150kW/450Nm (also used in the Peugeot 508).

Engine oil: Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W-30 (5.25 litres) which is ACEA C2, low SAPS, conforms to PSA B71 2290 spec. Also incredibly hard to find! You certainly can't waltz into Supercheap and buy it (possibly a few other oils can be used too).

19" Adriatic wheels, 245/40 R19 tyres, 0-100kmph in 8.2 seconds, 5.9 litres/100km, 8 speaker 350 watt stereo, dual chrome exhaust tips, metallic paint, reversing camera (Finale only).

Warranty
2014 LE - 3 year unlimited kilometre
2015-6 Finale - 6 year unlimited kilometre warranty (3 by Citroen, 3 by Allianz) & 6 year roadside assistance.

Servicing
12 month, 15,000 km servicing.

Service item replacement
Timing belt - 135,000 km/9 years
Air filter - 45,000 km
Fuel filter - 30,000 km
Pollen filter - 30,000 km (personally I think you can use your judgment on this)
Particle emission filter additive - check at 75,000, then every 15,000 km (which is not the same as AdBlue)

I always wanted one of these but they were like hens teeth rollesd in unicorn poo.
I did end getting a 2012 508GT sedan though. Love the engine, especially on a long trip.

Ideally, i'd take the DW12C 2.2 engine and drop it in with the DSG gearbox in my Skoda Superb wagon.

That, to me, would be an absolute winner!

Rear camera
Blurry picture problem.
I've had my LE for less than a year, but only driven it a few thousand km. I had to get some things fixed under warranty. I'm not actually sure if it's an LE or a Finale, as it has the LE badge on the boot and the 6 year warranty mentioned in the service booklet, but it looks like the rear camera is not original - unless Citroen Australia added a third party one themselves to what otherwise was an LE to make a Finale model! They may have done that for all 30 Finale's, or just my car, as it was bought in Sep 2015 so could have been left over LE stock which they had to add a camera and the extra 3 years warranty to as it was sold during the Finale period (or did it just to make the sale)?

Anyway the local dealer saw the camera and said it was a third party camera so wouldn't fix it (after having got a genuine one to do it). They also said that may have caused the right speaker channel to cut in and out, so won't look at that issue either.

So does anyone have a 2015 or later Finale with a camera (or any C5 with a genuine camera) that can show me a picture of it and the connector which is under the boot lid inside cover? This is mine and the Citroen one the dealer got which doesn't look like it'd fit in the spot, so I'm wondering if they got the correct one?

This is the camera installed

The connector on it

Which has a short lead then this connector:

I was after one for ages. I wanted to try the C5 suspension and fancied the power and economy of this engine (over the 2 litre one). The very late model 2 litres would be ok too at 130 kW.

I'd much prefer a station wagon as I find them so much more useful, but I have an Octavia 4x4 for that.

Engine is 4HL or DW12C 150kW/450Nm BiTurbo (also used in the Peugeot 508).
Not sure what your definition of "BiTurbo" might be, but this motor (the 4HL) has a single turbocharger - whilst it has variable geometry (ie. moveable vanes) like many diesel turbo applications do.

The earlier, less potent 2.2 diesels did, however come with two turbos.

I think you're right. It's referred to as 'dual-stage' in the goauto page. (Oh, I know what I was thinking of - I recently got rid of a BMW 118d which was BiTurbo! - whoops) :) Corrected now. Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's twin scroll - the 1.6 petrol THP engines have a twin scroll turbocharger - though probably a bit smaller than this one and not variable geometry.

A 2006 magazine which included a PSA article marketing the C5 Restyle 2.2 l engine described the turbocharging as “parallel sequential dual-turbo, a world first on a four cylinder Diesel engine”. The engine was produced at the Tremery plant in Lorraine producing 10,000 HDI engines a day across 2.0, 1.6 and 2.2 litre capacity for Ford and PSA. The plant had produced by July 2006 nearly one million 1.6 units and 500,000 2 litre units. I wonder how all that compares with Australian annual production of its 6 cylinder petrol engines (Ford and GMH)

The DW10F 2.0 engine has a variable geometry turbo.
Le turbocompresseur est à géométrie variable (actionneur pneumatique) et équipé d’une sonde de température.

! Turns out the camera that's installed is a cheapo all over AliExpress type. Just bought another to see if that fixes the blurriness. Now the radio.

To aid in the confusion, I think there were three iterations of the C5 2.2 HDi engine:
  • 2.2 single turbo 98kW/314Nm (variable geometry) - DW12TED4 (2005 local release)
  • 2.2 twin turbo 125kW/370Nm (fixed geometry) - DW12BTED4 (2007 local release)
  • 2.2 single turbo 150kW/450Nm (variable geometry - DW12CTED4 (2014 local release)

Changed the ATF about a month ago. Just doing the timing belt, water pump and coolant. The timing belt is the most complicated I've done (far easier on my Skoda TDI). I hate to think what the dealers charge for this.

I've got my 508 GT in for waterpump and belt next month. My Euro guy is charging me around $1200 with a service.
I thought that was pretty reasonable.
My Superb was well over $1600 over 4 years ago at the dealer.
ATF is due also.
Sealed for life my ar$e...
