I have been wondering recently about a picasso . I would use it mostly for carrying lightweight but bulky items . Do these cars have any inherent problems I would look for 2 litre turbodiesel with the 6 speed auto . Once the seats are flat do they offer plenty of room ? I would appreciate any comments .
Thanks in advance Keith

Colac Taxis in Victoria has 2 Picassos for taxi duty. (The older shape - maybe 2010 at a guess??) I was interested and phoned the business owner.
He said the drivers and customers both love them. They can be booked with or without the extra (removable) seats in the rear.
One driver liked it so much he has bought one for his own private use.
They were bought used and have proven reliable.

your choice of engine/trans is the one everybody says is the best choice. (2 litre diesel with 6 spd Japanese Auto.)

yes ,i have two sons with them ,the one with the aisin warner gear box is preferred ,they have just used them for moving kids so cant comment on shifting stuff with seats folded down

I have a peugeot 407 with the 2litre HDI and six speed auto and absolutely this configuration

think the Auto was 1.6 petrol before 2013, the diesel has EGS - 3rd row seats more fold-away than removable - worth looking for the rare Peugeot 5008 diesel version if set on a 6spd auto.

I replaced my series 2 C5 wagon with a 2015 Grand Picasso (Pablo) in early 2020.

I'm very impressed with the way he drives and the amount he can carry. The seats fold cleverly leaving a huge flat load area and so far I'm yet to be disappointed with his capabilities.

2 litre diesel in AdBlue form with the later Aisin auto is a nice package.

Only issue was with fitting a towbar interface unit. Bought the Westfalia bar and ECU which is supposed to be the factory unit. Bar fits beautifully and looks great. The ECU refused to talk to the car (or possibly vice versa) and kept throwing up a fault. Since had the ECU de-programmed by the Westfalia dealer and now no problems.

Overall, very happy. I thought I'd miss the Hydractive II from the C5 but the ride on Pablo is surprisingly good.

Definitely recommend. Cheers, Pottsy.

My son has a late first series (2012) - it is certainly versatile and suits their needs, but their 4-yr old objects to the body roll on windy roads - 16 year old 307 is better in that respect.

It has a great diesel engine (RHH/RHD), but has EGS automated manual transmission. Has only done 65,000 km, but has been off the road for several months - clutch problems, parts hard to get (Covid-19 not helping)...

I would recommend the Aisin auto, and avoid the EGS. Aisin auto not perfect - needs fluid changes like anything else - so avoid a neglected one.

one of my sons has just sold his .had EGS ,his wife lost confidence in it ,he had no trouble as he used to manually shift the first 3 gears than shift to auto ,he had owned it for 3 years and got what he paid for it so ,no probs ,they replaced it with a 7 seat 308 diesel auto she loves it

Bought a 2007 grand Picasso (petrol auto) for my partner...116,000 kms
auto was giving faults when bought and i had the auto rebuilt at cost of approx $2500 and since then no issues
really great load space and versatile....mainly she drives it with all seats down bar front 2 of course...dog roams the spacious back and it swallows just about anything....highly ecommended...swmbo loves it

I had the 2011 diesel Grand Picasso (5 or 7 seats) and didn't like the gearbox at all, but "upgraded" to the 2016 C4 Picasso (not Grand) and love it. It's so versatile and the gearbox and 1.6L petrol engine are great. I am sure the Grand Picasso of the same year (2015 on) would be just as good, it's only that I didn't need the 7 seats. My wife and I play golf and cycle and we can get everything in the car for a week away with luggage, so it's great!

Some one said they crossed 5008 off the list because the rear access not wide enough ?

i was gonna say they wouldn't be that stupid, but then, thinking about the second generation 'SUV'- style, the boot probably is compromised (-for good reason, i'm sure ...)
The first ones- i don't know, but doubt any difference would be significant; far as i can tell it's more the 'cockpit', A-pillar, windscreen / skylight - and the prices - less quirk and less depreciation ( if they asked the same new). Maybe the C-pillar is thicker?

We've got a grand Picasso 2014 diesel and we love it. Can't comment on your specific question but you'll be hard pressed to find such a compact car with such a huge amount of room. It's the widest car in the second row we've ever seen. Highly recommend. We might be selling ours soon, 5 months warranty remaining. Probably shouldn't sell to be honest, but I tend to get bored with cars quickly (this is the longest by a long way that I've ever owned a car - over five years, just to give it more credit!).

Cheap of me but am curious about their Trim Spec.s; how would a 2013 'Dynamic' differ from a 'Seduction' - does anyone have that kind of info. to hand?
One advertised appears identical to ours except for a full size spare - I doubt that's it.
I know, if i get a VIN and pay Service Box, but ...

From when was the Am6 gearbox used in these with the 2 litre HDI . I thought it was 2015 but have seen some 2008 models claiming to have this box . Confused

Egs boxes are good. U just need a citroen Mechanic such as me self that specialises in Egs actuator repairs and have done a lot of replacements and modifications over the years.

Don't take the car if it has an egs to anyone other than someone who is passionate about them and knows them well. Such as myself of a few long term Citroen dealers.

If the Egs automated box is relearned and clutch bite point adjusted each service they are trouble free.
