Hey Shane, you'll love this story, some people I know in
Bachus Marsh,(you may know them too) there into classic
rallies and rally all sorts of things, Cortinas, 504's, Datsun's,
in an event a couple of weeks back ran there road car, a stock
standard BX19GT, bolt on driving lights and a halda and hey
presto, instant rally car. How did they go I hear you ask? First
outright of course. The BX bought shame to GT Falcons, some very
hot Datsuns and Escorts, but we all knew it would , didn't we?
See Ya
David.

Hi Dave,

sounds about right... Heeee, heee, the 19GT is the lowest powered 1.9litre BX as well... Being the carby fed motor. The TRI's were the injected ones.

Hi Shane
Yep your right, thats what makes it more amazing, it was only a 19GT,
Apparently they were clocking 160-170kph on dirt and one 30km long down hill section spectators said you could clearly see the disc glowing red, there going to bring the car into work soon for a check up because they are running again in a few weeks.
See ya,
David.

Dont suppose youve seen that BX with the weird body kit in DAVES shed eh shane

Hi Dave,

?? Is that your brothers 16valve, or do you actualy have a 'hot' BX...

Leigh, the BX16valves had side skirts/spoilers etc...

AS a member of your family you, should know that I am already aware of this.

Apparently this BX has an after market kit from England on it

Hi Leigh,

and being a member of the same family you should know I'm a stiring bastard

Hmmm, I think I'll have to get me a BX16valve , it'll be the only way to make Ang jelous (though I think she likes the old mans car to

Hi guys,
The car at work is a 19TRI with a 4 headlight conversion and aftermarket front spoiler, probably from England, the owner bought it like that, apart from that its a normal TRI.
See ya's,
David.

Hi all, Apart from "B" Group Rally, did anyone campaign any BX's in Rally events when they were current models (particularly the 16V) & if so has anyone seen a website on this.
I know Alex Fritz was doing up one to racs over in Macedonia but with all the wars & strife going on at the border, that project may be on hold.

Hey everyone just thought i would let u know that even though the Bx GT is the lowest powered Bx19 imported to australia, it is still faster than the injection models (bar the 16valve) as it has no cat.

The GT is not the lowest powered 1.9, since it has 1 HP more than a 19 TRi, at least in Europe, since it's downtuned due to emission regulations and has a KAT. Also the GT has carbs, which means more torque than injection. I think (know) that the GT will outrun the TRi, especially when top speed is not important; like rallye.
The best rallye BX would be the BX Sport, which will outrun any BX on short distances. The 16v would win in the long run on top speed. But who needs that in a rallye...
