Dear Punters,

The wife went through a pot hole and cracked an alloy wheel. The tyre was a write-off also.

Needed new tyres thank goodness - Bridgestone Potenza Adrenaline R003 (205/45/17).
Great tyres but last only 28,000. https://www.productreview.com.au/p/bridgestone-potenza-re003.html

Could I find a new wheel in, well the world! eBay UK had them but no ship to Australia. One seller suggested $280 freight. Peugeot Oz wanted a mint for one at about $1,000 new.

Three hours later of searching I found them. Just one hour away. Crazy. Great Frog parts crowd to deal with. https://www.asv.com.au/product-category/now-wrecking/peugeot/ They had a used set of four (x4) and didn't want to break them up. So I bought the lot for $440.00 delivered. Now I've got three spare wheels.

Anybody want one? They are a great looking wheel.

New alloys arrived today ready for Potenza fitting, but, hey the four wheels came with near new fitted tyres - GoodYear Eagle F1 Directional 5. Not my choice, but sheeze, I saved $900.00 on tyres. So in essence I'm glad my wife forked-up the wheel.

And,

These Pug wheels are not Pug Hockenheim alloys, but Pug PITLANE alloys which I believe are lighter. Hot diggitidy. Off for a wheel alignment next weekend.

So now I have three Hockenheim's sitting in the shed.

Pic of PITLANE compared to Hockenheim.

Hock's - they even look heavier?

Similar experience with my previous 207gti which had the Pitlanes as factory fit. Hairline cracks (yes multiple spread around the full wheel) on the inner lip so they had constant slow leaks. Wheel repair places laughed at it and said they wouldn't touch them.

Ended up finding a set with ASV in Perth which even with shipping to my door a few years back was only $600. To my delight they turned up with basically new RE003 fitted too.

Lesson learnt was these aren't the strongest rims ... keep the pressures high on crappy Aussie roads
