Australian 16v205 register

I'm the owner of Micahs Sorrento green S3 xu9j4z.
Bought in Oct 13 - Now in Sydney.

Loving it!...

just wish I had some history on it. Other than Mi16 conversion, it looks like a few other things throughout car have been modified. If anyone knows this little Pugs upbringing, would like to know.

Bsavage - I take it you have found these entries at post 23 in this thread? jr20516v could perhaps tell you some more about the car or where to track the owner before him.

My 205 is Sorrento green but the engine came from a Vic registered '89 MI16. Conversion was done by Alpine affairs in Melbourne. Went to Qld and now back in Melb.

Yes, it was i that purchased Jasons beastie [i was Pugless whilst the PIG Turbo was being built for me ] and then sold it to the good lads at Gunderoo to make room for the newly finished PIG when it came home. :}

That's me and two of my sons. We have 3 205 MI16s between us and we are live in Gundaroo (mystery solved!). One of these was purchased from JR and has been further modified over the past few years.

In addition to the MI16 engined 205's, I have three additional 205 GTI's which are to be restored and/or modified as and when I find the time and the $!

Micah's car was purchased from me....previous owner to me was in Melbourne and i shipped it up. Will look up more history on it if i can.
It drove really well that car......so many 205's in so little time !!! LOL Cant remember them all.

Its great to hear from a couple of past owners of my Sorrento Green 20516v.

Yes, I'd love to know more about my PUG if you ever find some records on the mods made.
The only info I have is as follows:
91 Series 3
Mi16 conversion by Alpine Affairs Melbourne
Quaife LSD (ratio unknown)
Gearbox (ratios unknown)
309 16v Radiator
306 Front hubs (discovered this while replacing bearings)
Koni shocks upgrade
Optima battery
Reconditioned dash and full leather interior.
Timing belt / Water pump where done in November 2011.

The car is going great, but I am concerned about how tight the fit is of the Mi16 engine. Over Easter, i've flashed the torch around the engine bay and there is a couple of engine bits (throttle cable) very close/if not touching the radiator. There is one rubber hose that is touching the radiator and it seems only a matter of time before something goes awry... I'm not overly mechanically minded and plan to take it into Paul at AP for his opinion. Also Peter T has been recommended for his expertise on all 205 GTI issues.

Haha yeah although I think my tune needs work - it idles rich for sure which would effect fuel consumption. I'm concerned it's overly rich throughout which is why my injectors are working overtime.

Better to start rich and tune to lean than the other way around! As you have noted - you're not going to get there with the 8v injectors with that much power. My research tells me that the gti6 j4rs ones are the best pug injectors.

Do you have a wide band o2 sensor? You really need it if you're going to do 'home' tuning, you do with the Haltech anyway, I don't imagine yours is that different.
