I built two of the cars at Gunderoo ( 3 and 4 are 13 and 14). I'm not sure what ever happened to MYT-205. Han's 205 was written off at Eastern Creek. And you're missing one at Wollongong and Adrian Wuillemin.

Remember details of the engines in these cars Peter?
I'll update the original post tonight and then when we get new info.
I might drop myt205 a line and any membership names will help us track them down.

Patpug S3 White GTi6
Lewis is the young lad from manly vale
There is a Sorrento Green 16v getting about with a french 1.9 16v. Is that Mich?

There is Another Red 16v from Canberra, I sold him a shell to rebuild his car that was written off...Young dude who does photos..

Im building one ( again ) 2.1 Xu10J4

MYT 205 has recently changed hands. Hans sold it to Brian Metcalf ( on the central coast). He recently sold it.

Tim Cusacks race car was a 16 valve.

Parrys race car is soon to be a 16 valve.

There was a gunmetal grey car converted in QLD by Cal.

one sold on ebay a few months ago ~4k (i thought i had it, i got sniped at the last sec :() on the gold coast - silver xu9 converted by alpine affair IIRC.

My 205 is Sorrento green but the engine came from a Vic registered '89 MI16. Conversion was done by Alpine affairs in Melbourne. Went to Qld and now back in Melb.

My mate Jay (Jason micheluzz) built a red s1 205 mi16 with qtb's years ago. Maybe one of the first in aus?
I think it ended up in qld somewhere?

Micah

Queensland 205 GTi Mi16

Here is an addition to the Register from Queensland.

1988 Series 1 fitted with XU9J. Where is the engine number located on these?
Conversion date approx April 2007, possibly done by previous owner who also owned the 405 Mi16 from which the engine originated.
Silver/blue in colour, PeterT inlet cam, 15" speedlines, lowered,Eibach front springs, Koni dampers,
Location: Malanda ( inland from Cairns on the Atherton Tableland.)
Paul

"A straight is merely the distance between two corners."

Would "Magic" have done a few conversions?

Sounds like mine.
I thought one of the previous owners converted it, has full service history and receipts but nothing to say who did conversion.

"Auction Sniper" is the way to go.

Had to think hard at the time whether I could justify the outlay but no regrets its a great little machine.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking above. Rohan is the owner (username RTZnot or something similar).

and who could forget Benoît! I'm unsure whether he or Owen/Adrian W should be credited with the first.

Benoît - XU9J4
Adrian W - XU9J4
Parry - XU9J4

Here is my recollection of the ones I built:

MYT-205 - Red Series 1 XU9J4. Do a search on here for build story
Gunderoo #1 - Very early 1.6L GTi XU9J4. WA originally
Gunderoo #2 - White S3 XU9J4 - ACT originally
Han's - Red Series 1 XU9J4 - Owned & raced by Rally originally as an 8V, then me, sold it to Han's with XU9J4 (written off)
Tassie - Red Series 2 XU9J4 - The pick of them
Mine - White S3 XU10J4 (currently unregistered), bought with XU9J4, CAMS log booked, GTI-20S

The Gunderoo cars aren't a mystery. The owners are A/F members. Owen Wuillemin built the engine in Gunderoo #3, XU9J4.

Wollongong 205 is Grey S2 - XU10J4 (Magic, build thread lost in the great crash)

Here are some shots of the Tassie car.

I think one of John Thorne's cars (Gundaroo family including Hiptochristo) is from Qld? Could have been the ebay one but 504... has claimed that?

There's certainly a lot more than I thought. And when Shultzwagen drops an XU10J4 in his car there will be another!

Mine was completed before Benoit. mine was completed early 98.

Benoit sold his car recently.
