Hi all,
Thought I'd ask on here before I take a look at the car tomorrow. The last couple of mornings and this evening, I've had the car start on me perfectly fine, run for about 10 seconds and the die. I can only then start it again by turning it over and pumping the primer bulb by the fuel filter. Once it catches, it then runs and drives fine.

Now, this must be air getting in to the line somewhere. It takes a while for it to build up. I.e. car sitting all day or all night. If it sits for a few hours, it still starts and runs OK.

Any idea where I should look tomorrow for where the air might be getting in to the line?

On the fuel filter housing input you will find a little fitting between the line and the filter they suck / bleed air from there you can also check the orings where the pipes attach.

Well, I think I've found the problem...

Now the question is, what's causing it?

Car will be laid up until Monday now as we're travelling from Adelaide to Melbourne tomorrow so won't get a chance to look at it until we get back.

Is that just simply an o-ring on this type of filter or is it a complete failure and requires a whole new assembly?

In other good news, it's easy to bypass the fuel filter. The input line clicks in nicely to the output!

Hi. My wife has a 2006 307 2.0ĺ hdi. I found the fuel filter gets blocked and let's air in. Changing filter fixed my air fault...

Nothing like a trip to Melbourne and then a bout of gastro to delay the inevitable!

Finally looking at this and have removed the filter from the car. Next question is how do you open this up? Judging by the looks of it, it screws off at the top.
If that's the case, then that's where the leak is and I might only be up for a new filter an o-ring!

Thought as much! Owing comes with filter. Should be changed at same time as filter
