I last drove the car in 2007 or 2008, restoration started around then, then stalled during divorce and was idle while I lived and worked in Seattle for 6 years.

rebuilt for use as Competitive tarmac rally car with engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, wheels all undergoing the treatment.

this was the car when I last drove it

Custom crossover manifolds with sidedraft Weber’s (1 pair sliced in half). Previous setup was Downdraft triple Weber setup but manifold length way to short for naturally aspirated engine if looking for great torque curve

Cool:cool: Yes, no problem believing this setup gives a better torque curve.

I saw something similar once, a 5 cylinder engine with 2 and a half carb.

Very nice!
There was a blue A310 over here in Perth in the early 200's that was set up as a competition car....I think it went to Tas? It performed very well in sprint events with a couple of different owners ( A Whiteside and L Turner from memory?)

Is that a Fleischmann body kit fitted to you A310?

The car looks great in that colour scheme. 👍

Steve K can describe the major body kit components. I’ve changed the glass engine ‘hood’ with a louvre version with wing out of the Simon.de catalogue for better engine bay temperature control.

as you can see from engine photo, I also have cold air boxes for each bank of carbs to keep fuel/air mix as cool as possible. That big alloy box behind engine is head shielding for muffler exhaust.

the color scheme is inspired by the 79 Renault F1 colors. I printed big photos of the car (white) and hand colored with texta until I found a scheme I liked. we added the black trim lines after the paint job was finished.

I have a ton of photos of the whole process. I’ll organize them at some point and make an album.

here are a couple more photos
