I'm tempted to go just to see how much the Mi16 goes for. How long do auctions generally go for?

How long's a piece of string?

It all depends on how much gear is on offer and the order they put it through at.
Normally the bigger items go first but some Auctioneers at times will reverse the order if they feel a lot are there just for the big ticket irems; this keeps the crowd there longer & gives a bigger chance of a full clearance. dance
An average car is usually put through in about 3 minutes.
My guess is that this lot will go the normal way; cars & machinery first so give yourself a couple of hours.

It could go on and on - it all depend on the number of items put up for sale.

It is usual for the auctioneer to put up a list ahead of the sale detailing each item and the order of sale - the absence of a list suggeats that there may be simply too many items offered or that the auctioneer is slack.

Take your pick.

I'll call Omaras tomorrow and see if a list is available (and ask them to put it on the net)- in any case I'll go on Tuesday and post a report.

Ron

Omaras has put up the list on the web site at 11.00am Monday.

Looks like the cars are listed last. I won't have enough time to stick around all day, I've got class at 1pm.

Consider the 405 sold, I will be there and bidding high dollar for it :)

Just came back from viewing the omara auction.

Good news to some - plenty of parts for late model Citroen/Peugeot.

Bad news for others - hardly any parts for D, CX and BX (only spheres, LHM, antifreeze and misc. items).

Bad news for all - the parts are sold in mixed bay lots (6 bays) and not individually. Not for anyone looking for the stray part - the auction suits dealers only.

The Mi16 - average bodywork - red - faded and cracked paintwork to some panels - rust bubbles,
etc.

May be good at the right price for the mechanicals (180K) - was listed at Pymble for $9K+

Gone home prior to auction.

Ron,

I was interested in the sphere regassing & testing gear; were they going separate? They were shown a separate lot numbers.

As far as the Mi16 goes, that's the kind of car that is described within the Trade as having "potential" deal

Just thought I'd throw that in for anyone at teh Auction who may have heard the Auctioneers description when it came up for sale. roll_lau mallet

Alan S cheers! citroen_

Alan,

Yes, if they were listed separately.

I hope someone sends a post auction report this afternoon.

Ok just got back from the auction very long day..

the Mi16 was sold for $4200 as Rob said it was in average condition and had a severe oil leak in the engine. From what I could see it could have just been the sump.

Things were going fairly cheap, eg: 2 306 and 1 406 bonnet for $200 still in boxes.

Im not sure of what tester you are talking about but I think the highest any of the test gear went for was $200

$5 for HP injet still in box LOL
$5 for an alpine deck.

Bargin of the day:

all workshop manuals for every pug and cit ever brought into australia

$100

they will be on ebay soon

Spotted the Mi16 in the Caltex service station
in St Ives.

Can't see the value in paying $4650 (incl. comm.)
for an unregistered car requiring repairs when
later, less K and much better samples go for around $7 to $8K.

Have a look at the 11/92 Mi16 at

Not sure about the re-gassing stuff but I think the testing gear went to Bruce at P504 now at Hornsby.
