807 using coolant

Wife's Yaris had a problem with idle at 400rpm. No errors messages with a quick comp check. I threw some fuel additive at it and it sorted it. Just a thought to try. Also is the complete fuel system clean?

I threw a lot of injector cleaner in it when I first got the issue, didn't make any difference. Could put a new fuel filter in remove that from teh list of things.

Another quick check is to pull the injectors out while the car is running to make sure that the injectors are shutting off and not running when they shouldn't. would need to squirt into a small container so atomised fuel does not go all over the place and cause a fire.

That's shown nicely in a video here.

Should really start a new thread, we've gone well off my own topic, but loving it!

Doing better than this guy

And DO NOT get a finger in front of the jet. It can be an amputation injury. Seriously.

A jet of high pressure hydraulic oil put a farm hand in hospital and from which he later died. It apparently entered his blood stream via a vein in his thumb.

Yup, very high pressure emission. Much more dangerous than people realise. And it gets in instantaneously and people don't always realise how serious it is. this is up there with hydrofluoric acid, which is typically fatal if spilled on skin in any quantity - it doesn't dilute with heaps of washing I gather.

Happy to report that after 270km round trip today from Rye to Williamstown and back again for a coffee with the RCCV crew it looks like no coolant was used.

Now to work out why my hydraulic clutch drags when hot....

I was going to ask you if yours does too. if you find out why it drags, let me know

I don't get it. Why did you have to make that joiner from three different pieces? I mean I am sure you can find a single piece joiner even at Bunnings if not one of the auto parts stores or some more specialised welding supply store or some such. To me it looks like a classic why make it simple when it can be complicated?!

And if you really want to make it complicated I would suggest you at least solder the three parts together rather than mess around with sealants. That'll stop leaks for good.
