I've just found this very interesting website about the modified engine and suspension kit that Danielson sold for the 505 STI (note they got 135hp with over 190Nm of torque at just 3000rpm, as opposed to 3500rpm and 4250rpm for the stock STI and GTI respectively):

Here's the translation of the details.

The elements of the kit of transformation are below detailed:

1 - Driving kit :

cylinder head surfaced with worked over again conduits of admission, (in standard exchange),
camshaft and springs of specific valves,
cylinder head gasket reinforced, 4 special spark plugs.

2 - Kit exhaust :

Collector 4 in 1, quiet exchange, tube and two back silencers specific.

3 - Kit oil radiator :

Radiator, hose connection, connections and mounting plate.

4 - Kit suspension :

Specific springs AV and AR (shorter), shock absorbers adapted, discs of ties of hunting.

5 - Kit rims :

Four rims Pirelli (or Gotti with Danielson drawing) 6x15 with tires Pirelli P6 195-60-15.

6 - Aerodynamic kit :

A spoiler before and an aileron of trunk make it possible to decrease the value of the Cx (0,37 against 0,42 in the beginning).

7 - Sports Steering wheel with three branches with hub

The elements from 1 to 7 constitute the basic kit to which the customer can add other equipment:

-four round headlights with brush windscreen wipers double.

-Differential with slip limited (25%) with original ratio (other ratios on request).

-Danielson " decoration ": stickers, edge lines, sun visor....

There is a index of their other interesting pages about other special 505, 504 and other Pugs at:

The 504 and 505 Dangel 4X4 pages have some particularly good pictures, which I haven't found anywhere elses (click on the pics to get larger pics of them) you can see all the details of how they modified the front suspension, etc. It's fantastic:

Some weird 505 and 604 specials from the same website:

i'm sorry to say but as much as i like 604's i am so happy they never went ahead with the ute
i would nearly have to put that down next to the edsel and megane as bieng hit with the ugly stick

Still processing the not so good french to english translation for the danielsan website. Very interesting though. Did the translator work right when it said that the STi Danielsan and the GTi didn't have a great deal performance wise between them (comment made in last or second last paragraph of page)? What a puzzler! Badging the 505 GTi as such was a little out of step with the other "go faster" models called the same. I certainly didn't choose to buy my 505 GTi based on it's performance! No mention of any standing starts in the comparison between the 505, 505 danielsan and the bmw 5 series which would have been interesting.

The 505 coupe looks like a rover - uuuggghhh!

be nice to get some of those diffs out here though or the kits to fit the diffs that we have here
been a while since i have priced the slip kit but the were available through pug dealers a few years ago (if you got a pug dealer that didn't mind searching for you)
i though the 505 coupe looked more like a lancia HPe or beta coupe but the 604 ute really turned me right off
the extractors look fairly easy to make
the wheels lok like something of an early model torana though (well that's my other other 1/2 said when she saw them)
i must admit the STI/TRX wheels are a much better looking wheel
i wonder how much the kit was/is
i'd imagine it wouldn't be cheap
