Given it doesn't drive much right now for the first time in a while filled the 505 right up and left it parked on a side hill. Very strong fuel smell ensued and as suspected the fuel pump top seal appears gone ... I should say the silicon that was used in its placed by a previous owner is basically crumbling.

Genuine Pug seal 1528.19 is NLA and can't find a local replacement right now. EAI have stock on order from Europe and they're not expensive ($10) but no ETA so wondering what people suggest using to seal it up for the interim or if someone is sitting on spare seals they want to sell ?

Have used Threebond 1211 in a bind before but not sure of its durability given direct fuel contact so may go with Permatex Permashield Fuel Resistant Gasket

Welcome thoughts and suggestions ? Beyond the obvious don't fill it right up which I will of course do from now on.

Looks like a fat O Ring would easily do the job or cut a gasket from rubber sheet
