Has anyone got any hints or tips for pushing in the rear calliper piston on a peugeot 504? I understand you need to turn it 45 degree before trying to push the piston in, when fitting new disc pads, but I can't turn it at all.

Suggestions, anyone?

I've never had that problem. They can be fairly hard to rotate, though. I usually use a large suitably sized screwdriver placed in one side of the slot which gives enough leverage.

When I did mine I had a piece of steel that fitted into the slot (8mm from memory)that I could attach a spanner to . Never had a problem in rotating the piston this way . Once the piston is back don't forget to return the slot to the original position

I have always used a screwdriver on its side to rotate it .Also it is a good idea to attach a tube to the bleed screw and open it when pushing the pisten in to avoid the reservoir at the front from overflowing.
