504 koni inserts front to go into 404?

Hi all
Haven’t got much experience with 404. can I put 504 front koni inserts in front of 404?

Possibly, but a little longer and you may have to find a retaining ring that has enough thread because of the extra length. Also, Konis are too long even in the 504 505 and need 5 or 10 mm taken off the shafts to prevent smashing the foot valves. This is for the red car? If original you can pull them apart and fill with higher grade fork oil. I have a Monroe gas (good Australian made one) which I know will fit but you would have to find another.

Also, if they are for a late 504 they are even longer and pretty sure they won't fit.
