504 fan electrical problem

Dont lock it. If anyone who has fitted a fan override switch will tell you. Flick it on going up a hill and it is like throwing out an anchor.
A 504 diesel with the 8 bladed fan and the impact is even more dramatic.
BIGR is 100% correct.

I hear what you're saying, and in fact I have never used an override switch. I just lock em because I like to keep things really simple, and hate having one more possible weak link.

I think you both just convinced me to fit an electric fan with an override switch. I have a fan ready to go in...
