406 coupe 3 ltre cam belt estimate

It is a diy job as long as you replace the old tensioner with the off centre type that need the new type water pump. It’s easily a $1500 job I wouldn’t trust it to the muppets in most shops now you don’t need any specific tools drill bits are fine and don’t worry about adjusting the vernier cam sprockets. Even being the Forman in the last two shops I’ve worked in I never let anyone do these.
The book time used to be about 7 hours

Here is a how to, hope I have the right engine.

I used this as part of the research when I was getting myself psyched up to change my 2002 Renault V6 cam belt, which is the Renault version of the Peugeot engine.

The timing belt kit cost me about $420 and I also bought a tool kit to lock up the cams and crank which I think was just over $100

Here is my journey from doing my cam belt change

As Dave says above its a job that is not to be taken lightly

That link is correct but being a d8 it won’t have vvt so no need for special cam tools a basic drill bit set will be fine just as I’ve said before mark everything with liquid paper belt pulleys engine and don’t try to undo the main crank bolt it’s not needed.

Well that's all fine except I don't have anywhere or the tools needed to do the job which is why I asked for a quote
Thanks anyways.
