Am trying to buy some brake hoses for my D9 406 SV. Sites offering aftermarket hoses list 2 choices - "to ch 08882" and "from ch 08882".

I assume that 'ch' stands for chassis (number), and that the number quoted is the last 5 digits of the VIN - is this correct?

I have tried to find info in VIN decoding, but have only found that European useage is different to that in the US. My Vin is VF38BXFXA81190525, so on the face of it I want the later type. Or is the first digit (of the 6) a year code (0 might be 2000, so 9 would be 1999). Am I overthinking this?

Cheers

Alec

Thanks for such a quick reply!

Yes, that rings a bell - PP2000 must ask for it. Car isn't here, so I can't double-check from the sticker on the door frame.

The cut-off is 8882, so that makes mine (8723) the early type in this case?
