404 generator wiring help

I have fitted a ducelier generator and a ducelier regulator to the 404 but I cant get the wiring figured out. the gen. has +, -, and exc terminals. The reg has bat, dyn and exc. None of the existing wires have any ID left. can anyone help?

exc goes to exc. Reg bat goes to battery, reg dyn to generator output (+ / big terminal).
- /smallest terminal on generator goes to earth.

Hi Graham, Does he have to do a Ducey to Ducey match on gene to reg. same/same as on 203/403? Ducel 7210 gene. 14 amp. Corresponding Reg. 1341. Ducel 7210 gene 16 amp. Corresponding Reg. 8297. Ducel 7274 gene 20-22 amp. Corresponding Reg. 8324 - 8343. Ducel 7274 gene 24-26 amp. Corresponding Reg. 8332.
