Swapping out lower control arms on my '08 308 2.0 HDi manual wagon for roadworthy (passing the car on to my Dad). Lost some gear oil when the CV joints slipped out of the transaxle. Not much, guessing less than 100mL.

Where do I top it up, and with what?

Should I be doing a gear oil change while I'm in the neighbourhood? It's only done 125000km.

The correct spec is 75W80.

Peugeot lists three oils - none of which you could probably buy locally other than from a dealer:
  • Total Transmission BV
  • Mobil Gear Oil FE
  • Total Transmission HBVFE2
Bedggoods should stock it - probably the last one.

Penrite sell a 75W80 oil - Trans Gear 75W-80, but I would buy the dealer stuff to avoid any cold shifting issues.

on shore oils douse elf and total oils ,if you want to go genuine ,i got multi trans auto oil off them for my peugeot 307 they are over taren point way ,quantity may be a problem ,

I use Penrite Semi Synthetic Transgear 75W90 for my 406 Manual.
