They look like they'll take 406 wheels on the 307.
This 307HDI has 205/55/16 where my 406 has 195/65/15.
A rough tape measure makes them appear the same diameter or so close it doesn't matter.

Anyone done the switch? I spose the low profile 16's would handle better?

The reason being I hate the manky old steel rims on the 307 that I've just acquired and I already have a spare set of 406 mags with good tyres.

Should be fine - I've done the opposite (16" 307 rims on the 406). However there appear to be different offset 307 rims. The ones I picked up from a wrecker don't have quite enough offset on the 406 - I had to shave the front calipers a little, and on full lock the tyre scrapes on the wheel arch liner.

The other type are more common and actually look wider. So just bolt up a front wheel, and make sure that it doesn't scrape/lock against the caliper, and test it on full lock to make sure it has clearance.

If nothing scrapes, the in why not?

Cheers

One of my 2007 Hdi 307s has D8 starfish 406 Coupe wheels on it.

We had to use the coupe bolts as they are a bit longer than the 307 bolts.

Haven't had any problems with tyres rubbing or clearance to calipers.

Cheers
