Need a quick cheap run around and the 208gti looks like good value and from all reports a very good car.

Any owners here, anything I should look out for.

Thanks in advance

Make sure 0w30 oils been used these don’t block intakes like the low power ones do but better safe than sorry.
If you can get a diagbox or a dealer to check for misfire faults in the bsi faults log not the engine ecu people can clear faults in the engine but not the faults log. A p0087 could mean a hp fuel pump is needed.
Chains etc don’t give trouble on these.
Check the radio sat Nav unit make sure it doesn’t lock up freeze or reset this normally means a possibility of replacement needed also speakers cutting out especially on front doors can also mean radio fault internally and again not cheap.

Oddly, one of its more common issues is a broken rear washer pipe in the hatch cutout. They decided to replace rubber with cheap, nasty concertina plastic, with predictable results.

I owned one for four years and this was its only issue :)

Regular oil changes (12mth/15k) and spark plug changes (30k) should mean it keeps going fine.

I found it to be an excellent car.

Better than a clio
