Hi, does anyone have experience with replacement key fobs/cases for a 207? Mine is badly worn but works ok if you fiddle with it. I noticed replacements on eBay etc vary from $8 to $140 but all look much the same?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Buy the replacement case only so you get new rubber button pad. There are 2 and 3 button varieties.

There are instructions online to move your key over from original to new.

Use your pcb and ride chip if seperate otherwise your car won't start again.

is this the type of replacement you mean?
That looks very like the one I bought for my 407, whoch works fine.
It says you need to get the key blade cut, but that is not true.
You can just swap the key blade across by tapping out the roll pin and moving the existing key across to the new case along with the immobiliser chip and pcb.
Took me a while to spot that the key blade can be removed without disassembling the case as the pin is only visible with the key partially opened.

Did you manage to get the ebay key to work?

I am trying to do the same for my 207.

I bought this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001704659146.html and this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33028408643.html

There is a few different type to choose from and mine was the one with the battery on the circuit board instead of the case. 10 days later I received a new key with the circuit board and a new blade that is already cut for $21 AUD.

The new key can go into the ignition and turns easily like the original (but as expected does not actually start the car.) If I can actually get the key to be programmed into the car it will be fantastic, otherwise I will just swap the circuit board into the new fob.

Depends were the RFID chip is. Either a seperate black slither or on the pcb.

Use the original unless you have Diagbox AND the key card that came with the car. Or dealer can provide once you prove your the owner of the vehicle. My local dealer charges $25 for the 4 digit code.

My obdstar pulls the codes out of all can can cars we never charged anyone for codes only wanted to see a licence and rego papers if not a customer. I should start a code pulling business.

Yes I did but my fob looks different to the ones on the website you provided. Mine looks like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Key-Fob...526684?hash=item4dbb0ac3dc:g:Mr0AAOSwlARfrPDE
I had to fiddle about with the metal key to get it to fit but it all works well.

Sorry if a bit off topic.
I have a key that needs to be programmed and I have the software. The routine is complicated.
If I stuff up the new key I can get a new one.
When doing the new key programming, is it possible to get things wrong and not be able to start the 407 with the existing old key?
Thanks
Pat

Sorry Pat, I can't advise on this as I have no experience in this area/ Good luck.

Yes but you should always be able to recode the old key
