Hi,
Everywhere I am reading, a common theme is emerging, that the standard intercooler fitted to a 207 gti is inadequate for keeping the intake air optimally cool on mild-hot days.
So, has anyone here installed a Forge or Airtec intercooler to a (fairly) stock 207 GTI, and what were the results?
Should there be performance gains (albeit smallish)?
Will turbo lag increase because the aftermarket intercooler is larger and there require extra time to 'pressurise'?
Will there be a increase in the coolant temperature (and perhaps engine temp), as the aftermarket intercoolers generally mount in front of the radiator?
Cause damage to any other part of the car?
Any other comments around this?
Thanks in advance.
