206gti catalytic converter?

Just acquired a nice and tidy 206gti (yay!) and rejoined the Pug fraternity (I've had a few 205gti's and a 206gti 180)

Needs a Cat for it's RWC (sobs of woe), quoted $1100 fitted. Anybody got one or a good suggestion for a cheaper option?

Looks like you could get one on eBay for about $250, but you'd still need to fit it. I would think a good exhaust place could replace it with a generic one for a few hundred. $1100 seems pretty extreme.

Be very careful most aftermarket ones are garbage and you end up having to put a defeat plug/ extension on the downstream o2 anyway.
