I need to change the pads in a 206GTI tommorrow, is there anything I should know, any special tools required?
I ask this as I went to change the rear pads in my wife's Astra this afternoon and had to give up, I had no idea as to how to get them out!! I think the caliper swings away but on removing the only visible bolt it was still attached tightly. Any ideas?

Have you consulted the holy grail ?

Thanks for the suggestion, the rears look a bit ominous, however!

With the rears, you must screw the piston back into the brake housing. This is done by using a suitably sized screwdriver placed into the slots cut into the piston outer.

Done!
The rears were easy, don't know why the 206 site said it impossible without special tools.
Thanks for the advice Brad, different to the 504 where you just turn the piston 45 degrees and push.

graham, since its a Pug, im sure its driven like one!! :D .. did you clean up the calipers with a little brake fluid on a rag, and then lightly coat the back of the pads with copper-coat (dixons of course)... just some picky things that make the next change a breeze. - chris
