205 Gti Dashboard Upgrade??

Hi Guys,
Does anybody know if you can put an upgraded series 2 dash, into a series 1 205 gti??
How much work is involved, or are you just better off buying a series 2 car..
any thoughts?

Changing over from sliding vent controls to round vent controls, I presume would be old dash out new dash in, there a number of differneces, so whether or not they would match up I am not sure as I have'nt seen behind a 205 dash (yet!)might just be easier to buy a 205 with later dash.

mine is, but I boughty it liek that. I think it seems to fit alright, but jeez the guy who did the conversion was a bit rough i reckon. Do all 205's rattle? tongue Ah well, I think the upgrade looks good buy my car ^^

Simple change over. Heater/demister box is different though. Instruement cluster is identical.
