205 1.9 alloy hub caps (whats the trick?)

i tried putting hub caps in the above rims.....very tight/awkward.

i ended up using my hand as a hammer. every single cap is now in too far and wonky and i will have to take the wheel off to poke them back out.

is there a trick to getting them in without the above struggle?

If there is one I don't know what it is. Maybe next time use something flat a little bit bigger than the cap when you bash them in so they can't go past flush.

You can use a hot glue stick to pull them out.

Thing is, you don't need to pull them out normally.

they are aftermarket reproductions, they seem to be an airtight fight, and the plastic used is a little bit stiffer and less pliable maybe than OEM...
on the last one i dremmeled off every other locking tab and it was a still a ballache to get in and it still messed up (too far/wonnky).
