203 ( - etc.) spotted for sale on ebay / gumtree ( - etc., etc. ...)

Pete pointed-out re prices;

" $14,000 might be a bit much as the green one went for $14,000 & everything was done, not sure what the yellow one needs to get it back on the road)))

Tok paid $5,000? & that was rust free
so maybe about $8,000 or maybe more, you would have to have a test drive first……."

Then currently at auction there is:

Not a great advance in values over the last twenty years while restoration costs have surged ahead.

Green one is far far better.

Karl Malden of BGT brakes has one for sale, great body, interior suspension etc, all been very well rebuilt, would go for mid to low teens.

Don't know but those parts will end up as scrap if you don't organise pick up Andrew.

The ex-Gordon Miller green 203 changed hands last Saturday and headed back to Sydney. Not sure who the new owner is.

I rang Albury;
Chris found TO 860 as a Project someone in Wodonga had not lived to finish, and just re-assembled what was there. Maybe the original engine was replaced in Ballarat; i'm sure it was original / matching numbers when I drove it in Drummond twenty years ago ...
Shane DoubleChevron spotted it for sale on facebook Nov. 2015, with mine;

Glenn Vagg only knew of the car - had helped out the Wodonga fellow with some stuff, then been contacted by his widow before it went to Chris (present vendor) so i remain none the wiser as to the where and when of engine swap ...

What an original car. They are still around and if it checks out well worth the money particularly as it's an LTi.

The ad says : "Automatic, sunroof, air conditioned, power steering,"

Power steering? Really? It may have, I dunno, I never owned one.

The LTi launched with metallic paint, laminated windscreen, tinted side and rear window glass, up market stereo, steel sunroof, special French made road wheels, Borg Warner automatic "specially adapted to mate with the fuel injection engine" and carpeted boot. No mention of power steering. Designed to compete in the executive market against Caprice, Fairlane, Benz, Volvo and BMW. From the Renault Australia press release.

I think they did have electric front windows but it's not in the initial press release.
There is an interesting back story about the carpeted boot and indeed this model that reflects on the relationship between Renault Australia and Peugeot.

There was no power steering on any 504 models.To fit it using 505 parts you need to move the alternator to under the battery to fit the ps pump under the rh side of the motor. I did this on my cab.and it was a worthwhile change.I don't know what you have to do if you want to fit AC but I suppose there is a way.

Power steering was standard on the 504TI from September 1977. Of course the TI was deleted from the Australian lineup in 1976 with the introduction of ADR27A. I always regretted that my UK spec 504TI was made in January 1977 as I found 504 steering a disappointment after Peugeots from 203 to 404. A little more directness available from power steering would have improved it no end.
