Interesting to see 2x Meganes on the entry list for the six hour race on Sunday in Class "C", one driven by Colin Osborne & Rick Bates, the other by Josh Haynes & Kaide Lehman. Good luck to them both!

Great to see the track used to its full track density. 59 cars in practice for the 6 hr!
A welcome change from the 23 maximum allowed under the Supercars franchise system.
What a great variety in the 46 car historic touring car race, the usual Mustangs, XU1, Lotus Cortina etc but a Holden HD X2, Datsun 1600 and Volvo 122S !

For those interested in the Renaults, combined practice to date shows Colin is 51st of 60 cars with 2:45.5611. The other Megane from Colin's team is 31st with 2:39.0968.
Fastest is Van Gis of course in the BMW M4 with 2:25.9092* just in front of Tim Leahey on 2:26.0699 in the M3

Pug did pretty well in the TCR also. Missed the first race, but looks like two second place so far 👍🏼

TCR Pug did 2:16.1629 in race 2 for second. TCR Megane RS did 2:17.1240. A lot faster than the Production cars.

An interesting statistic came up during the broadcast, comparing today's TCR with 1980s Group A Ford Sierra turbos which were quick.
Checked and found 1987/88 results qualifying at 2:17 / 2:16 and fastest race laps 2:20 / 2:19.
Pretty good for front wheel drive (TCR).

Sadly, as is usual in TV coverage of motorsports involving multiple classes, the commentators and camera's only follow the vehicles at the front of the field, similar to the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Very little footage of the smaller classes and no class results ever posted except for those appearing in the top 24. Currently, with an hour and ten to go, the Haynes/Lehman Megane is leading it's class and is 22nd outright!

Agree Kim, it's very sad that its always been that way in Aus. It's not hard to provide class information. Over 20 yrs ago in the US, the ALMS Gt series had a system which made the endurance races very entertaining and exciting. A simple light system where each car had a coloured light to identify class, one of 3 lights would illuminate to indicate if it was 1st, 2nd or 3rd in class. It was very easy for spectators at the track and TV commentary to know the top 3 in each class and where they were running outright.
20 years later with heaps of tech available and they cant seem to give simple info.
Apart from a brief mention of the VW when he was 4th outright and leading class, it was not until the last 30 minutes when Morris was inside the top 7 that they mentioned Paul was leading the class, with 2nd in class behind him and therefore did not need to fight for outright, just concentrate on the class win for the Mustang.
