My wife has reached the end of the road with her little clio.
After back surgery, she finds it too low to get into and out of, and is after a car with an automatic gearbox.
She mostly just potters around the local area, to the bus stop, picking up kids etc. Pure shopping trolley duties. Sportiness/power is not a requirement. Back comfort is and granny spec ergonomics is!
Doing the search of basicly any car that might tick the boxes of smalish, auto, not too old and not too many KM, and not too much coin, the peugeot 2008 keeps popping up.

I dont know anything about these cars.

Will I massively regret it if I got her one?
Will it keep me broke with expensive repairs?
Does it require a specialist peugeot mechanic to service it?
Will I learn a whole vocabulary of french swear words to direct at it?

Does anyone care to share their opinions of them?

Cheers, jo

The 2008 uses the 3 cylinder 1.2 L engine, with an oil-wetted timing belt. There has been a lot of discussion concerning that belt in AF. Look it up. David S has been useful.

The rest of the car is standard comfortable modern Pug, with few worries. Contrary to the journalist's reports the instrument panel is easily seen.
