2013 Megane engine into 2016 Megane

Can anyone advise on compatibility between 2013 and 2016 Megan's? Both cars are GTLine auto wagon. Donor car has a low klm 2013 engine to go into a 2016 with engine failure. Is it a difficult job? Anything to look out for? Will the ECU complain? Should I do engine and trans or just engine?

I’ve worked out they’re not compatible - 2013 donor car has a 2ltr engine while 2016 has the 1.2ltr 7spd

Hmm not sure what you are doing exactly. But there would be lots of both types of those engines around in the wreckers etc. They were the mainstay fitted to all the smaller Renaults over quite a few years. Clios Capturs Megans and more even. The transmissions are different too as you noted. The 2Lr has the AL4 4 speed hydraulic and the 1.2 turbo has a DSG auto.
IMHO you would be unwise to try and replace any engine with one that is not the same type as the electronics would make it difficult.
