Hi there

I found this website and hope you can help!

I'm selling a friends car that has a few issues and is very frustrating. He's left the city and left me to deal with it!!

Its been rarely used over the past 3 years, next service due 100k or 5/2016 whatever is sooner. So, you can see its needing a service as the mileage is just below that.

The car drives fine, but when it heats up the automatic gear change acts strange and the engine light comes on and it goes into a strange drive mode.

The transmission is ok until then. It's very strange. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

Will probably need a pressure control valve in the valve body but being a 2007 206 these had a few other problems that need to be ruled out have you got any codes out of it

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure where I can find a trustworthy Peugeot mechanic to look at the car?!

Where are you in Sydney? There are a few specialist mechanics that can read the codes for you.

You need to get the codes to properly diagnose it.

(But I had a 206cc that had erratic gear changes when it was warm.
All I did was to replace the transmission oil and that fixed the problem.
It is not an easy job as these are "sealed for life" (which I highly disagree with)
There is a drain plug with integrated oil level tube, but it is a little bit difficult to refill the transmission.
You have to dismantle a lot of parts to get to the top of the gearbox.
I flushed it out 5 times, to get most of the old oil out of the torque converter.
It ran great after that,...no problems.)

But you need the codes.
