Yep, I've lost count of how many issues I've resolved by never assuming anything is as it should be.

Hella do have online cross reference info for their part numbers to Peugeot, but only for the LHD pedals

I have a few French documents for the early EP engines. The most relevant comment coverning the pedal, translated, is:

If the coefficient is not 0.45 ≤ S1/S2 ≤ 0.55 the computer switches to limp mode
