2006 auto RHR 407

Evening to all, The above mentioned 407 HDi is not as good as it should be. The codes are P3008 and P0299. The DPF pressure sensor is now functioning after a few thousand K's of being US. The 6 speed auto is a bit slow at times and seems to be a bit confused sometimes as to whether to change up or down. The car has travelled about 244K's. When driving at a steady pace which needs about 2,000 RPM the engine will frequently start to hunt/surge until the situation is resolved by use of accelerator to either speed up or slow.

Research of various sites indicates a turbo underboost for the P0299 and maybe a MAF issue for the P3008. Am unsure as to an EGR restrictor, but will be by Monday. Thanks !
 
Interesting, I have a 2007 RHR 407 with none of your issues thankfully, the auto has been flushed twice in the last 12 months and this has fixed most of its issues currently, mileage similar to yours. Bloody electrics give you the irrits, side lamp or driving light at any one time, all about bulb resistance as a Phillips bulb fixed the front.

About to block the egr too.

Thanks Matthew for those clues. Will be starting on the auto box oil change before heading off to Bastille Day. Swapped the MAF sensor for a spare in the hope of clearing the P3008. Whilst listening to it idling after making sure it still started I played with the brake pedal cause the amount of travel was a bit unnerving, and maybe that indicated a vacuum leak. The pedal could be made good with about 6 quick pumps and then slowly bled away as pressure was maintained. Perhaps that trait may indicate a vacuum leak which is affecting the turbo control and is the culprit for the P0299 turbo underboost. Any one have clues or ideas about this scenario. Thanks
 
On a 407 with bulb warnings you need to check rear earth pins
