Froggies on Bold

For once it wasn't Sebastien Loeb and Citroën the winners, but Rally King "Bosse" Marcus Grönholm and the 307 WRC!!!! :headbang: :headbang:
It's the 2nd time the Peugeot "CC racing" wins an event, and the same one: Finland!!!
Thanks to that win and the 3rd place of fellow teammate Markko Märtin from Estonia(but codriver Michael Park from England), Peugeot takes the lead from Citroën before the first "real" tarmac rally, Germany!!
Happiness in the Peugeot clan :adrink:
Note that it's 6 years since the last victory of a car wearing the italian tyres Pirelli :wink2:
But the thing that shoked on the rally was the jumps which hurt codrivers backs!!!
Daniel Elena, Loeb's codriver, and even more Timo Rautiäinen, today winner's codriver were seriously injured at the back yesterday and during 1 minute(for Daniel) to most of the day(for Timo ) they couldn't breathe as they suffered!!!!
Fortuneately they all could finish the event without too much more problems...
Really awsome week-end in Finland for Peugeot fans!!

Yep it's on coming weekend.
Citroens and Peugeots will show who can make fast cars for normal roads!
Maybe pace-note the crests properly?johnh875 said:I think it is pretty unacceptable that co-drivers should be exposed to potentially serious injuries like that - must be from hitting bump stops v. hard - the regs need looking at. Maybe elastomer seat mounts to limit forces imposed?

One jump in particular, which had seemed deceptively gentle on the recce, seemed to catch out most crews. Petter Solberg estimated that his car was launched three metres in the air after they hit it at 190kph. With less opportunity to brace themselves, co-drivers tended to be the worst affected, and some complained of back and rib pain after the violent impacts.

CHRIS ATKINSON!!!!

I don't doubt they didn't miss the crests, but they obviously didn't allow for the speed/angle/landing , anyone who's rallied where there's lots of crests should do that for each crest and either put a speed on it or rate it as "flat crest" or put a figure on it to tell you what speed to go eg "6 crest". You can't survive long putting "flat crest" for everything...johnh875 said:I doubt the pace notes missed the crests - they clearly could slow down, but choose not to, and having chosen not to the severity of the landings needs to be looked at.
Edit, I've now seen a bit more info from the event, this is probably what you were referring to. I still think something needs to be done, on "normal" crests you see the codrivers wincing at the landings, this one took it over the edge.
