My 306 hatch has had an ignition switch fail. Something bruck inside and can't get the key in to release steering lock etc.,
The key is intact.
How does one get the barrel out, without destroying it? so I can take it to a locksmith for repair/replacement - or is destroying it the only answer?
Does anyone have any second hand units?
Lets know please if you have any for sale.
Ta.

Going to be difficult, the key normally gets stuck in there which still enables you to turn the key vertically which is necessary to remove the barrel. There is a tab on the bottom, vertically behlow and need to be pressed in to remove barrel. Not sure what to do with it locked out.

See what others have to say at thios point.

1995 306 Ignition Barrel Removal

Matthew, Thanks for replying.
I am going to drill out the pins that stop the barrel from being removed.

Then see what a locksmith can do before buying a new unit.
Got it out!

Bit battered but can now move the car.
