Hi everyone,

I am looking to purchase a 505 and hope to get one this weekend. The one I'm looking at has very old rubber and the tyres are tired - boom tish. I can see that they are 195/75 R14s, though can also see from other tyres on other 505s that they have 190/85 R14s.

I know that some of the tyres are harder to locate the correct sizing and that the range/options are limited.

Would greatly appreciate any assistance here on this please.

Thanks in advance, Mark

If it's a wagon you have to be careful of load rating - they require a tyre with minimum 95 load rating. It's hard to find a passenger tyre now that complies. I used to use Bob Jane Allrounders on our 1984 wagon in 195/75x14 95H size but they are no longer available. When I replaced mine a few months ago I used commercial light van tyres in 185R14C 102/100R Austone brand. While you don't expect the same sort of performance from a van tyre I have found them fine so far.
