I have decided to sell my little R12. I purchased it for $16,000 in November last year out of nostalgia as it is the same model and colour as my first car, and brought it down from Queensland with hopes and dreams of regularly attending car club meets, Cars and Coffee etc but I am just finding that that is not working out the way I’d hoped, nor do I have the room to store the car the way it deserves to be, at my place it lives under a carport.
I have purchased a set of R17 wheels and had them re-sprayed in silver to match the original R12 wheels. Both sets of wheels have 90% rubber. Car will come with both sets of wheels.
I am currently having the door trims re-trimmed in black vinyl, they are away at the trimmer’s shop at them moment and I expect them back in the next week or so, he’s very busy.
I have the factory belt driven fan, (although it is running an electric fan at present) and several other spare parts and a folder of paperwork from the previous owners.
I have also got a steering wheel that I am told is a R12 Gordini steering wheel but I don’t think it is, I’ve not seen this wheel in an R12 before and I also have the factory R12 steering wheel in good condition.
This little car drives beautifully, accelerates well, brakes nicely and generally handles very well.
As mentioned, I paid $16,000 for the car, plus $1,000 To transport it to Sydney, plus some work needed to get it Blue Slipped and registered here in New South Wales. All in, the car owes me around $19,000 however I will let it go for a fair offer.
