11BL parts

David,
I think??? Andrew Brodie Engineering in the UK may be the place to start. I think you will find that the Brodie family no longer own the business but that it is still operating. If you can't pick it up on the net I will go through my pile of gear here & see if I can find a URL for their web site. If you do no good there, I can give you the e-mail address for a guy who is well up in the CCC of UK & seems to have contacts to all sorts of goodies.

Hi Dave,

you really will probably only need CTA services in Sweden:

http://www.cta.a.se/index.htm

There site isn't easy to navigate, so you'll have to take you time and work out what links to click (or better still just email the guys the first time you see an 'email' link and ask specificly for what you want).

You may also be interested in the Chyparse site:

I know you don't tend to stock many 'DS/ID' parts, but check out there prices (online). That 'D' roof seal you and Mel carey had to ask $120 + gst for (probably because your suppliers are gready!). I bought from here for $39.00 aud

. Quite a difference hey!!

I always support the local companys like yours if I can, but I'm not going to pay nearly $100 more for the same item

I realise it's not you that's the problem it's whoever you buy your parts from that is gready.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for the tip, those DS roof seals, thats amazing, I new we were paying to much but not that much, believe me the profit on D parts doesn't make them worth while to stock but I didn't know we were getting "ripped off" by 100 bucks. There is only one Ossie importer of D parts and up until now he had no opposition.

David.

Hi Dave,

just a thought, but have you tried Mel Carey, he's probably the only Traction specialist in Victoria? He may have the parts you need in stock (you never know your luck!)...

He seems to have a bit of old ID stuff as well, he probably wrecks them for the drivetrains... To convert tractions.

David,

If all else fails, it may be worth trying the "Gayndah mob," Les Hayes or Peter Huth. They have heaps of stuff up there & seem to have access to loads of gear for earlier model stuff. What they haven't got, they know where it is usually. These days it's not as big a hassle to contact them as it used to be. Peter is actually the Mayor of Gayndah Shire in Queensland.
Bet he doesn't hang around some of his classics when he has his Mayoral robes & chains on!!

Thanks Alan, I 'll give Peter a ring, I hadn't thought of him, he called in to see me the other week, or should I say, he called in to see the SM we have down the back of the workshop, he left his number and said to ring if we have problems with older stuff. Ian Steele is good for the odd traction bits too isn't he?

David.

David,
If Peter can't help, ask him what the current position is with Jeff Harman. I haven't seen Jeff for about 10 years but he used to be pretty big into Traction gear. Lives in Gayndah also, & seemed to have the happy knack of finding old cockeys with an old shed full of bits. Top guy & a good mechanic.
