106 GTi in Australia

Hey all,

Does anyone happen to know if any 106 GTi’s were brought into Oz via private import?

Love the shape of them, thought one could be a cool little project one day. Probably not one that had spent 20 years on UK salted roads though...

Don’t know about the 106s but there was definitely a saxo vts in Newcastle area that we serviced in the late 00s

I have never seen any in oz been looking for the last 12 years! There is a few saxos about though, seen at least 5 over the years

Wasn't there a red 106 (not GTi) ex-UK import for sale in Melbourne in the last couple years on Carsales? Think it was a base model. That's the closest I have seen.

Pretty sure that there was a 106 diesel for sale, I think in Adelaide, about 20 years ago.

I remember that one being red. It advertised 70mpg, which is 4l per 100, which even then seemed pretty good.
