Hi all. I'd like to test the 0-100 time of my newly acquired 505 V6, is there a easy method for measuring it ? As the vehicle has a speed pickup for the variable assist power steer, I was thinking that might be a good test point to use rather than looking at the speedo needle ? (Combined with laptop/electronics) Only spec I have seen for the V6 sedan is 7.6 sec (with cat & emissions gear), it'll be interesting to compare with the 'ol XN1A wagon I still have.....

Find a friend with a G-Tech ... it works really well.

First you'll have to correct your speedo... or at least find out what correction is required.

Time yourself over a measured km at a steady 100 on your speedo, then divide that time into 3600. That will tell you how far out it is... allow for that in your acceleration run.

Find a flat piece of road, use a stopwatch and click it as you take off and when you reach the corrected 100kmh reading.
