I went with my Dad to watch the 1954 F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone. After a few laps, Dad pointed to a spot on the corner where some grass only just grew over the track. He said "Moss always touches that same piece of grass on every lap, watch!" I watched and sure enough Moss did! Totally consistent in his Maserati! He finished fourth. The race was won by Fangio from Gonzelez and Hawthorn. That is the only F1 race I've ever seen close up and personal! Hay bales and grass it was!
