None of that Dealer BS / I am currently paying up to the nose and never know what you get everytime it would appear, it is a lucky dip of sorts.
One suggestion yonks ago was this outfit that visits you - well that fell through for whatever the reason, that outfit asked me a whole lot of question including private details like home address VIN etc then after information given - never to be heard from - ever again. This still remains a mystery to me.

Hope this time it would not be the same kind of suggestion. Looking for reliability, not too far, honest, high standards of work, qualified able to do softwares as well and not charge an arm and a leg and most of all - no surprises. Not asking too much basically just about the same wish list from all customers.

I gave the local dealer a chance and was not satisfied at all. A real hodgepodge operation. Top dollar rates (and received two different quotes.. yet of course charged the highest one at pick up time), invoices lack detail (did not specify oil type or provide brake or tyre wear report) and extremely poor customer service. No more for me either. I'll be going to PQ Automotive in future, they seem to have a good rep. Local MyCar seems alright too but I feel more comfortable going to someone with experience working on Peugeot's.

Unless you go to the dealer you cannot get software updates period this is not opinion this is fact.
Palo I don’t think you will find someone I think you should move to a public transport model for your future some people never find satisfaction.
Pugtastic mycar are you kidding Kmart tyre and auto are the absolute ass end off mechanics and up sell kings.
Cam85 your welcome.

not too far,

From where? And how far is too far?

If you take sydney to be about 80km x 80km,that is a lot of square km to be not too far from. Bigger than some self-contained countries.

Start by using a cardinal direction, then an ordinal one if that narrows it down.

Or you could try a local government area or council name. Even a postcode would help.

I'm having trouble understanding how a mobile mech could visit you without knowing your address, and how would they definitively know the exact car without a Vin

Pass that popcorn Cam.

South-eastern suburbs, going by Palo's past difficulties.

There is only one single make dealer in Sydney, whose staff work all the time on PSA Citroen/Peugeot engines - Continental at Roselands. They know their stuff, at dealer pricing. They can get you to the railway nearby or perhaps lend a car if needed.

Peugeot's dealer page lists them as Professional (Commercial Only). I don't know what that means for Peugeot car warranty - ask them. They are a Citroen dealer, but a little while ago they were selling some Peugeots, possibly demonstrators, with warranty and service.

The mobile bloke is still busy around town, often at garages, so he must be doing something right.

Yes, Continental are selling and servicing new Peugeot cars. It's where I bought my 508.
For anyone in Sydney, this is absolutely the place to go.

except this one after taking in the details - fell into a black hole no nothing that is all - just an information gathering exercise

wondering though if they frown upon a sudden custom after all these years from when bought new...hence charge it like Ben Hur with chariots and all

I live down in Torquay and are searching for a workshop to do some work on a C6 I bought early in the year. Mainly bushes , new belts and general bringing up to scratch on a 150000 klm car. In fact I am just trying to get a few things done to get the RWC to get Vic rego for a start. Continental know the car and to date seem the only place with a vague interest in doing the work. Have thought of putting it back on a truck to Sydney but keep thinking there must be someone in Vic. Any thoughts from you folk.

Continentals are dealers, They charge like Ben Hur's chariot as all dealers do. Expensive factory parts have to come from the distributors, Inchcape, also. They don't want you hanging about, just like the other dealers. You won't go there to socialise, and it's not a district to find much while-you-wait amusement. It's the sort of place where you drop off a car and leave, then come back later and pay.

They have been mentioned only because their workshop does nothing but Citroen and lately Peugeot vehicles with the same engines, and has done so on the same site for longer than 60 years. The head mechanic knows his stuff. Plenty of AF members endorse them.

No, they would welcome any new customer. They really are great. I've been a customer for 20 years.

looking back all those years of service visits I don't think I had ever socialise at all , although have to say back in my Mazda days I have got to know the service manager a little better and had brought Mazda brochures from Japan when I went to Japan to give it to them. It would be hard to be bringing gifts would u give it to the manager or the mechanics? and if so, how many bushel of nuts? Since the Peugeot days I had never been to the dealers where I bought my Peugeot, I had always been to the then- Peugeot declared 'authorised service centre' - an independent. Hoping they will be less expensive as they do not have the kind of overheads as dealers but alas! Hie thee hither that I may pour my spirits in thine ear! they too are premium priced.

wtf.

Paul Vassallo (AP Automotive) gets my vote. Carlton isn't too far. Not sure why you're insisting on software updates ? What's wrong in particular that you feel you need a software update ? Have you tried rebooting ?

Address: 87 Planthurst Rd, Carlton NSW 2218

Phone: (02) 9546 4006

Cheers

Justin

Hi John
I highly recommend Hardy Automotive in Grovedale. Just off Torquay Road.
They are European car specialists, they looked after my 307 for years and were great.
they do my partners' Skoda now.
Very knowledgeable people, workshop is always spotless, prices very reasonable, know their Euro cars.
They are leaning more towards VW/Audi/Skoda/BMW these days but also do lots of French cars.
You can also get a loaner car for $20 for the day, usually an older Audi or VW Jetta.
A few of my neighbors go there and all are happy customers.
Google reviews: 29 reviews averaging 5 stars.
I don't know if they have ever touched a C6 before...

By the way, my Dad was a John WH, too.
