    Icon4 Upgrade successful

Our new style for vB4.2 is finished after nearly a year of pain 3 different web designers.

Last night the vB upgrade script stopped 3/4 through & aborted. I was not able to get past this before I had to head to work, so I had to use the back up I created just before the upgrade to restore our forum. This ended up taking down the whole server so we had to wait for DCSI techs to finish the job at 9am.

Hopefully this won't happen again this time.

I will start backing up at midnight so the site will slow down big time for 30mins. After that it will be closed until we are upgraded.

As others have said - thanks so much for your work in running this forum! It is a great source of companionship and help.

I was up at 1.00 am this morning dropped in to see what was being discussed - and was dismayed to find AF down!! Do hope that it all runs to plan tonight.

    Best regards

    Ian.

I wouldn't worry too much, Pugnut. GibGib has been talking about this off and on since before GAFC2010. It looks like all the basic 'style' has come back, just needs some tweeking.

Looks great Gerry, glad you finally got it all sorted out.

Looks like he was able to keep most of the old graphic style too which was good.

    It's looking good, thanks Gerry.

Is it possible to shrink the frog buttons on the left edge of the forum pages, as their present size makes the threads sit a long way apart, which makes the pages longer to scroll through.

    Thanks,
    Roger

    Gerry,

I'm wondering if "New Activity" would it look better if the thread title is in different colour?

I like the new look, after initial reservations, it's a good mix of old and new.

    cheers

A few small bugs that are being attended to, but for the most part business as usual here... Thanks gibgib, I know you have put a huge amount of time, energy and dollars into keeping the site secure

Gamma, have you tried using a different browser?

The software upgrade became necessary we were several versions behind which left AF quite vulnerable.

    Cheers

    Bright and airy, looking good.

I guess it is the fiddly details which will take the time to fix. Sorry to add to the list but could we have the "Unviewed posts" button back again please? The new activity button does not seem to do the same job.
