    Default Diecast dioramas

Hi all, I did a search and found a 'diecast' thread which died a year or two ago, so I thought I'd start up a separate thread for your entertainment. I own a 1:1 scale Citroen C4 turbo diesel, and in the past have owned a Pug 203 and 404, as well as a Citroen GS Club Wagon, so French cars are the focus of my diecast collection. While that collection is a bit too big to show here, I thought my other little hobby, of putting my diecast French cars into dioramas which I have created in Photoshop, might be worth a posting, so here goes...

Renault Floride and Peugeot 404 cabriolet

Peugeot 403 at Phillip Island in the original Armstrong 500 at Philip Island.

Sebastien Loeb in his WRC Citroen C4, "action shot"

Citroen CX and Citroen SM outside the Pompidou Centre in Paris

Citroen DS parked on Glebe Point Road.

Anyway, that's enough for starters. I have done quite a few others as well, so if anyone is interested in seeing any more, let me know via the comments.

    yes, please do show more!
pardon my stupidity, but i take it these are photos of the models photoshopped in to real world photos?

Yep, Alexander, the little (1:43 scale) cars are photoshopped onto real world pix. In the DS Citroen on Glebe Pt Road, for example, the 'road' is actually a sheet of emery paper, which looks nicely asphalt-like.

I'll post a second set tomorrow, when I get some time.

    Default 403 at Phillip Island

Great pics - with the cars and scenery - just want to get the descriptions right.

C24 - with the red stripes - would that be the 1961 car?

Ozzie Master: yep, it's the 1961 Pug 403, it's an Altaya model which has been hand-modded by an Australian enthusiast. I found it on eBay. Anyway, time for a few more dios...

Peugeot 404 cabriolet going for a picnic by the lake on a sunny Sunday

Gerard Depardieu and friends whizzing around Antibes on the Riviera in their Panhard Dyna Juniors

Peugeot J7 van selling hot potato chips to a patient queue of customers outside the Bondi Pavilion

Nice old couple shopping in the village square for vegies, sold from a Citroen Type H van

Bert Shankland's 1967 East Africa Safari winning Peugeot 404

Renault 4 on a day out in the country

Renault 10 parked in a Redfern Street

Citroen 2CV Charleston, out shopping at the village grocer's

Citroen DS21, London to Sydney Marathon, Ogier/Bianchi, hopelessly off-course at Uluru, where the rally never went. Just a fantasy dio here, folks.

    Peugeot 203 Pickup, at work

    Peugeot 203 crossing the Dordogne

Peugeot 504 East Africa Safari Rally 1976, 9th placegetter, Nicolas/Lefebvre

I have 100s of diecast and model cars, but I've never really gotten into the diorama thing, although I am starting to experiment with ideas.

This is one I did about a year ago.

    This is the 'before' shot.

    These are the after shots.

This is one I did many years ago.

This is the only 'real' diorama I have at the moment, the one on the left is a Renault.

My son is quite handy with photoshop.
    The before shot.

And this is what he knocked up in a few minutes!
    Cheers Renomad

Hey, I have that same VW kombi Samba van (it's by Schuco, right?). I like that sandy dio for the Kombi, and you're right about your son's Photoshop skills. Very nice work.

No, it's by Maisto and it's 1/25 scale.
