Default A weekend that you must put in your French visit agenda

I have just had a terrific weekend in Lyon on the CitroŽn stand at the annual Epoqu'Auto show. In my view it is more friendly and suited to the average car restorer and enthusiast than Rťtromobile in Paris. It is still relatively cheap to participate, whereas the Paris prices are forcing it up-market to just a venue for high value car auctions.
There were a large number of specialist suppliers for for all marques including several for Alpines and Matras.
I can share my list of cards from these people but cannot comment through lack of direct experience on their quality of service.
To get a flavour of the quality and diversity of the cars on show see my album at

In spite of the cool weather (the exhibition centre is well heated) this is an event not to be missed!!

    Nice.

But I keep not seeing any Simca Oceane or 1200S. Where are they?

Fantastic pics Gerry, sorry I missed it but had to get a friend to the airport at La Rochelle. I did notice an Austin Atlantic and an MGA in there, are you changing allegiance?

No, but one does not see an Atlantic every day, the MGA was an error of judgement for which I humbly apologise. here is what I wrote for the ACI members:-

The Exhibition Epoqu'auto 2012 at Lyon last weekend was a great success and rivalled Retromobile for numbers of particpants and visitors. The Amicale de CitroŽn France with CitroŽn had an extensive stand with a diversity of member Clubs exhibiting. One unusual display came from the Dyane Club which fielded a team of mechanics that rebuilt a Dyane over the three days. The H tendre et chevronnťs displayed a member's ice cream salesvan and kept the visitors cool with a wide selection of flavours.

We were proud of the three wins of Amicale member Clubs for the best stands (18-36m2)
First Prize: Les amis de la 2CV
Second Prize shared equally: H tendre et chevronnťs and the C4-C6 Vintage Clubs

    The statistics were
    5 Halls totalling 38,500 m2
    700 vehicles displayed
470 exhibitors of which 100 were Clubs and 350 were selling parts, tool or other merchandise
Our CitroŽn Village occupied 1000 m2 shared between 18 Clubs
Attendance was 8% up on last year

Overall I would sum the weekend up in one word 'Convivialitť'
