Has Quicktrak as well, which is unusual for a GTi6 owner... No kilometres listed though...

Ive been following that car over the last 3 or 4 weeks.

It was originally advertised for 18990 about three weeks ago in TP.

It was in Sun-Herald for 16500.

I gave them a call. Car has 130000 kms, and 12 months rego, *Sounds* like it would be OK but KMs are highish for these kind of cars I think...

BTW, what would ppl say would be a good (read: reliable/cheap) amount of KMs for a 97/98 Gti Im thinking in my price range 20ish, probably about 70000?

    Thanks

    Andrew

$16,500 seems like a good buy to me & a reasonable price. Km's are a bit high but the price is adjusted for that.

I'd say a gti-6 with about 70,000km's would sell for mid 20's (well i'd advertise at that price), that said you would have a major service at 80,000kms so you would have to take that into account.

why is 130k's high mileage for a car like this ?
we are talking about a car that is built to be driven and do many k's before even thinking about an overhaul for them
i have never been able to work out why when a car hits 100k it is considered high mileage
it's like telling someone that once you hit 40 life starts heading downhill

I'm looking to find something similar to that, Im probably looking at around 18-19000

    For that I'd say that I will prob get maybe a 97 with 70-80 or a 98 with 100ish....

130k doesnt really bother me but of course everyone want as low as they can get for their money....I would be tempted at looking at the above mentioned but it is the other side of sydney so its a bit of a drive.....and I'm probably a month off being ready to buy...Prices can vary so much....i mean in the trading post this week the started at 18 and went to 26. Is there any reason i would buy a slighlty newer model eg 99,00 over the earlier ones other than kms/servicing etc.....Were there many changes in the later models?

    Default phone details?

thanks, but don't suppose you have the number? The drive.com.au link doesn't work and that leads me to believe that it has sold maybe?
