    Hey Bog

Whoa, did you say Mazda 20B tripple rotor ?

Ive Finaly realized Front wheel drive is'nt the way to go for having fun, well it can be, but the old handbrake cable dosnt agree.

If your going to do up an old reno I'd go with the R8 but you would'nt wanna modify it, as they are to much of a collectors item.

Seems to be more of the R10's getting around.
They dont really do it for me but.

    Anyway I'll catch ya later

Put it in the back of an 8 and prepare to fly then die!!!

Speaking of weird conversions.......I had a look at a Floride in Sydney earlier in the year. Some hero had transplanted a two litre BMW motor and a 5 speed ZF transaxle into the beast but gave up before the job was completed. Apart from the mechanicals the thing was really badly chopped around..square headlights Holden Torana tailight clusters and holden discs/hubs all round, radiator in front, roll cage and space frame welded in place and much butchery of the front panels to add a bit of flair...oh and covered in a very thick layer of rust..back to bare metal years ago and no paint since. I've got some jpegs of it if any one is interested.

I had a look underneath and it was a bit weird because the Renault suspension towers and what looked to be the original swing axles were still there and functioning, just couldn't quite work out how Einstein achieved this. My guess is that the ZF transaxle came out of a VW of some sort..and the original BMW bellhousing just bolted straight on...the rest is beyond me. The price on all of that was $950...surprisingly lots of detail parts and the soft top frame were still on it, but alas the owner wouldbn't part it out.

A friend of mine has a fairly mean 10, lowered with the obligatory wide wheels..it goes pretty well and looks pretty good so I wouldn't totally write the idea off Ash..

    Hey Ash,

This weeks Trading Post has a non running R8 in Melbourne at $400 03 98896367.

I may be able to put you on to a fakadini (R8 with 2 extra non original headlights)also a non goer. The guy says he wants $1000 if he decides to sell it. A French blue colour re upholstered, great dash conversion almost looks like the real thing.

Speaking of strange conversions, I used to own an R8 fakedini, 4 headlight front, no bumpers, 15+7 inch wheels, looked the part, had a 1.4 litre virage motor so I thought it was fun to drive, the bloke I sold it to didn't, he fitted a 2 litre Alfa motor and did such a neat job he even cast his own rocker cover with GORDINI written across it.

Then there was the rotory powered black R12 with the silver Gordini strips that used to be down here somewhere.

I even know some idiot who put a V6 in a Fuego, whoops that was me.
    see ya

    Heee,heee,

now that could define the term 'understeer', a V6 bolted into a fuego, who'd ever be silly enough to do that :p

Then again, I've heard a guy in Melbourne bolted a 4.4litre P76 V8 into a DS a few year back. My guess is that'd handle much the same way as the Fuego above

I doubt there's been a car made that those all alloy buick based V8's haven't found there way into a some stage Yeah crazies 'll do anything with a nice light V8...
