Default 16v/8v XU9 block engine differances

Other than the obvious head, are there any differances in the block, bottom end etc of the 16v and 8v Citroen/Peugeot engines? Is it feasable to fit a 16v head to a 8v engine?

    Cheers
    Michael

No. Engine mount doesn't pick up enough bolts, dip stick hole location wrong, no oil squirters.............

    Thanks Peter - but bugger!!
I am after a XU9J4 engine that needs a rebuild as I have most of the parts here. I have had no replies from wanted's posted in AF. Was wondering in a 8v would work.

    Cheers

Which parts do you need exactly?

I don't have anything to add except that I'd love to see a project thread on your car once things start coming together.

    Hi Peter, Adrian.
I have a reconditioned (Peter Taylor cam) head, high compression pistons, liners, and rods.
I am after a block to put them in. A complete block with worn pistons, liners etc is fine. As long as the crank, block, oil pump etc is good or able to be overhauled with no, or minimal internal corrosion. Also want the manifolds, inlet and exhaust, sump.
Pretty much the complete engine without the head; or with head even if the head is U/S
Obviously new bearings will be used. Also I want the cam cover as I want to make it look nice for the overhauled engine
I have a BX16v with a good engine, and the plan was to take it off the road and use this engine to rebuild. BUT, due to circumstances this car now has to be available for use. So I want to rebuild an engine, and have it ready to go in the car. Less time off the road.

So what is the cost for what I am after?

    Cheers
    Michael
