    Default 205 gti cam selection/profile

    Hi all,

Over the past few months I've been reconditioning my DKZ head to bolt on my series 1 DFZ bottom end. It's getting a full going over: 43mm inlet valves, new guides, custom 3-angle seats with larger inlet inserts, flow bench testing etc.

I'm going to cc the chambers in the next few days to confirm compression ratio, but I've heard that this combination makes around 10.5:1 static.

That suggests to me that I could run a fair bit of duration. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the DFZ camshaft specifications - I would get this info myself off the cam but I am still running the car as my daily at the moment. I don't have a DKZ cam - are they different? I imagine running the series 1 cam would make a very torquey setup that would run out of huff early?

I'm happy to go to any profile that will get me the optimum street performance - I'm not interested in turning my pug into a Honda wannabe and have to rev the ring out of it all the time. I just want a genuine "fast road" set-up. Sooooooooo, if anyone out there is running this set-up, what profiles are you running/would you run if you had the choice?

    Cheers

    244 @ 0.050
    248 @ 0.050
